National Grid Accepted To U.S. Department Of Defense SkillBridge

National Grid was recently approved by the U.S. Department of Defense as an industry partner for its SkillBridge program. DOD SkillBridge provides career development opportunities to service members approaching the end of their military commitment. Active duty service members can apply to spend the last six months of their commitment as an intern, bridging the gap between the end of their service and the beginning of their civilian careers.

“It Takes A County… And Then Some” – Annual St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser Set For Sunday

The 17th annual St. Baldrick’s Day in Oswego County fundraising event will take place this Sunday, April 16, from 1-4 p.m. at Curtis Manor in Oswego. Volunteer Event Organizer Dan Witmer helped plan the first local event in 2007, and he’s led the drive to help raise funds for childhood cancer research every year since.

DEC Proposes Amended Water Quality Criteria For Marine Waters

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced proposed amendments to New York’s water quality criteria that are a key component of New York’s water quality standard regulations. The proposed criteria would set more stringent limitations on certain bacteria to further help protect public health when using marine waterways through recreational and shellfishing activities. DEC is accepting public comments on the proposed amendments until June 20, 2023, and public hearings are scheduled for June 13 and 15.
