Organized by members of the all-volunteer Winona Forest Recreation Association, the weekend will feature the IditaFAT fat bike races on Saturday, and the SnoFatShu snowshoe/fat bike duathlon on Sunday.

UPDATE: One of the drivers has died from his injuries.
The investigation has revealed that at approximately 2:40 p.m., today (February 25) a 2013 Toyota operated by Bert D. Hyland, 87, from Bernhards Bay, was traveling eastbound on State Route 49 in the town of West Monroe when he lost control on a snow-covered roadway crossing over the centerline and striking an Oswego County DOT snowplow.

Three down; two more coming up soon. Local laws 1, 2 and 3 (of 2019) were approved by the Common Council Monday night. A public hearing was held for each of the three proposals. There were no speakers.

Oswego firefighters are on the scene of a multiple family residential structure fire on Mitchell Street in the city today (February 25). Three people were able to escape the flames with their pets. Firefighters quickly confined and extinguished the fire.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau introduces Zach Grulich as its new coordinator of recreation and youth development and director of Camp Hollis. Grulich returns to the camp where he spent many childhood summers that helped to shape his career path.

UPDATE:  Oswego County Sheriff Don Hilton has issued a Travel Advisory for all of Oswego County beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday February 24 until further notice.According to the National Weather Service Buffalo, Central New York is in for nasty weather. Snow with high winds will create blizzard conditions in several counties. The high winds are likely to cause flooding also, the NWS said.

UPDATE: State Police have identified the victim as 77-year-old Thomas Vedder of Bernards Bay. On Friday, February 22, at 10:30 p.m., State Trooper Nathan Horner was on patrol and traveling northbound on County Route 37 when he observed a man lying in the northbound lane of the roadway. The name of the decedent is being withheld until next of kin can be notified. The investigation is continuing.
