Today (October 10), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that in Fiscal Year 2018, the agency deleted all or part of 22 sites from Superfund’s National Priorities List, the largest number of deletions in one year since FY 2005 and a significant increase over the past few years.

Yesterday evening (October 9), bipartisan, bicameral legislation introduced in the House by U.S. Rep. John Katko, the Fort Ontario Study Act, was signed into law by President Donald Trump. “Since coming to Congress in 2015, putting Fort Ontario on the path to becoming a National Park has been among my top priorities. Pulaski Man Charged In Connection With County Timber Theft

On Tuesday (October 9) at 9:37 p.m., deputies arrested John M. Holbrook, 50, of 3134 CR 2, Pulaski, for fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony and second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. The arrest stems from the investigation into an incident that occurred in the town of Richland.

Oswego Council Tweaks Winter Parking Policy

On a warm, muggy autumn evening, the Oswego Common Council was planning for the cold, snowy days of winter. At its meeting Tuesday, the council unanimously approved amendments to the Code of the City of Oswego, Chapter 257, Vehicles and Traffic, Section 257-27, Winter Parking Restrictions. The vote was 5-0-2 with councilors Linda DeMassi and John Gosek excused.

Jones Released From Prison; DA ‘Heartbroken, Frustrated and Angry’

Alan Jones was released from prison (Oct. 4). He was serving a sentence of 5 to 15 years. He strangled his 11-year-old step-sister in August of 2008 at their Palermo home.”I’m heartbroken, frustrated, and angry at the whole situation,” the DA told Oswego County Today today.

City of Fulton Thanks OCO for Donation to Improve Canalview Bridge Walk

The city of Fulton was recently able to complete sidewalk repairs along the Canalview Bridge Walk thanks in large part to a $5,000 donation provided by Oswego County Opportunities. Mayor Ron Woodward, city employees, and city volunteers recently met to thank OCO for its donation.
