Oswego County Health Department Warns Residents of Potentially Rabid Fox

The Oswego County Health Department today (May 10) is warning residents that three adults were attacked by a gray fox in the vicinity of Snyder Road and County Route 15 in the town of Sandy Creek. One attack occurred Tuesday, May 8, and the others occurred Wednesday evening, May 9. Anyone in the area who sees a gray fox behaving aggressively is advised to call the New York State DEC regional dispatch office at 1-877-457-5680.

Picking Up Litter: Pride in Community

As the recent warm weather has concluded the long winter season, melted snow has resulted in littered streets and yards, Fulton city officials said. Sam Vono, Fourth Ward representative on the Fulton Common Council, has led his ward by example in an effort to combat the litter plaguing community neighborhoods. “One of my pet peeves has always been litter. I’m so opposed to people just driving and throwing litter out the window. I’d like to raise awareness in the city to try to get people on board, everybody, all of our residents, to just take some pride in our community. If you see it, pick it up,” he said.

State DOT Announces Paving Project On Route 104 In Oswego

tate Department of Transportation Acting Commissioner Paul Karas today (May 9) announced that construction is beginning on a $2.4 million project to repair and resurface 2.5 miles of Route 104 in the city of Oswego. Rotary Club Aims To Enhance Leotta Park

The small park at the entrance to the city at East First and Utica street will be getting some sprucing up, thanks to the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club. The Physical Services Committee gave a favorable recommendation to a request from the club for use of public space at Leotta Park in order to construct a pavilion and place four picnic tables. They will also do landscaping in the area.

Port City To Re-Do Dock Replacement Resolution

At its meeting Monday night, the Administrative Services Committee revisited a resolution regarding replacement of damaged docks at the International Marina. The company supplying the docks has proposed payment terms that obligate the city to pay 50 percent of the total at the time the proposal is signed. The current resolution doesn’t provide for that requirement. The company has agreed to accept the balance owed as long as it is paid within 10 days after delivery of the docks. An updated resolution will be sent to the full council for consideration.
