Cold Case Tuesday: Troop D Continues To Investigate 35-Year-Old Homicide

The New York State Police continue to investigate the 1980 murder of 28-year-old Stephen Forbes. On July 11, 1980, Forbes of the Village Green Apartments in Baldwinsville, was reported missing by family members. Forbes was a business partner in the “Novel -T Shirt Store” on Route 48, Phoenix.

Mayor Billy Barlow is pleased to announce the appointment of Randy Griffin as the next Fire Chief for the City of Oswego Fire Department. Gary Thibodeau’s Quest For New Trial Continues

Gary Thibodeau’s request to have his conviction overturned and receive a new trial was heard this morning (Feb. 27) in an Appeals Court. Thibodeau was convicted in 1995 of kidnapping Heidi Allen from the convenience store she was working at on Easter Sunday morning in 1994. Two years ago, a judge denied his request.

New York State Tobacco Control Programs have been proven to reduce youth smoking and help current smokers quit, which saves lives and millions of state tax dollars. However, higher rates of smoking persist among individuals with less than a high school education (22.4%), income less than $25,000 a year (22.2%) and those with poor mental health (27.2%).
