On Sept. 22 at 9:26 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested John E. Painter, 29, of 29 Woodland Drive, Fulton.He was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sex act, a class B felony and first-degree course of conduct against a child, a class B felony.
The Fulton Common Council has unanimously approved a resolution at the regular meeting held Tuesday, September 20 to authorize the city of Fulton to submit a grant application to the New York State Empire Development Corporation. The grant, for the maximum amount of $500,000 would be used to complete infrastructure work and marketing for both the former Nestles site located at 555 S. Fourth St. as well as the former Sofco site located at 351 N. First St.
At this month’s meeting, the Oswego County Legislature approved the sale of two parcels at the former Miller Brewery to the County of Oswego IDA. The purchase price of $400,000 would recover back taxes for the county and the Fulton City School District.
The Fulton Common Council unanimously approved a resolution of respect in honor of former common councilor, Daniel H. Knopp Jr., who passed away on September 8, 2016. “We may never know why things happen the way they do. Dan was a good man and for all the time he spent as common councilman, he always did something good for the city. We will miss him very much,” the mayor said.

A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles Wednesday evening (Sept 21) at Pollard Drive and State Route 3 in Hannibal left two people transported by ambulance to Syracuse area hospitals.
