UPDATE: 331 PM July 24 – State Police in Hastings have located Morgan LaRose in good health. She is now back with family members.

State Senator Patty Ritchie announced that roads and bridges throughout Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Oswego counties will benefit from more than $179 million in state funding for infrastructure additions and enhancements that will make travel safer and more efficient, as well as help to create jobs and boost the region’s economy.
The Oswego County Health Department today (July 22) issued a warning that two adults and a pet dog were recently attacked by a rabid cat on DeMass Road near the Durham Bus Garage in Minetto. The small black female cat was captured and euthanized, and test results showed it was infected with the rabies virus.

On July 21, investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the NYS Police Special Operations Response Team and the Fulton Police Department executed a narcotics related search warrant at 61 N. Sixth St. in Fulton. As a result, a total of 73 individual bags of heroin and approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine were seized.
The Small Kings have been playing together for 16 years, in one form or another. Now, they have kicked it up a notch, according to a member of Oswego’s Frostbit Blue. “Hey, I’ve got me a boy in a rock band!” proud father Tom McCaffrey told Oswego County Today. The group is releasing its second album with a performance today downstate.
One of the largest free-admission music festivals in the country, Harborfest is proud to announce a headlining roster consisting of artists Blues Traveler, Dennis DeYoung playing the music of Styx, Eaglemania (the world’s greatest Eagles cover band), Reverend Raven and the Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys (featuring Westside Andy Linderman on harmonica), and Enter the Haggis, as well as a diverse roster of richly talented local and visiting musicians.
On Wednesday, State Police stopped a vehicle in Schroeppel for a traffic violation. It was determined the driver, Joseph Rinaldi, of Phoenix, was allegedly driving with a suspended license. Further investigation revealed that Rinaldi and his passenger, Douglas Migliaccio, of Phoenix, were in possession of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Wednesday (July 20) the counties of Oswego and Wayne released a joint resolution in support of the New York State Public Service Commission’s responsive proposal, which acknowledges the tremendous economic, energy and environmental attributes of upstate nuclear energy plants as a component of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Clean Energy Standard.
