New York State DMV Announces 81 Arrests During ‘Operation Prevent’ Underage Drinking Sweeps

From March 31 through April 2, investigators from DMV’s Division of Field Investigation teamed up with the State Liquor Authority and local law enforcement agencies to conduct sweeps in Cortland, Niagara Falls, Oswego, and Saratoga Springs, during which dozens of fake IDs were confiscated.

Fulton Area Home Show Ties into Revitalization of City

The War Memorial filled quickly on Saturday (April 2) with vendors, home owners and prospective home buyers to enjoy the Fulton Area Home Show as put on by the city’s Community Development Agency. The annual event took a year off last year for budgetary reasons, said Executive Director of the Fulton CDA, Joseph Fiumara, but the event returned this year with more than 40 vendors from the Fulton area to cover all aspects of home owning and home improvement. Due to sponsorship from Burke’s Home Center of Fulton and Oswego and Fulton Savings Bank, Fiumara says they were able to break even on the event this year and at this point feel it is feasible to continue the event next year.

Scriba Man Arrested Following Neighbor Dispute

At about 7:38 a.m. today (April 4), State Police responded to a criminal mischief complaint on Middle Road in the town of Scriba. Investigation at the scene revealed Mark E. Gloska, 34, of Middle Road, allegedly deflated the tires on two of his neighbors’ vehicles, damaging them, following a dispute overnight.

On February 24, at 9:05 p.m., State Police in Hastings responded to a domestic dispute on County Route 12 in the town of Hastings. Investigation at the scene revealed Timothy A. Scott II, 29, of Central Square, had allegedly pushed, hit and choked a female victim until she lost consciousness in front of her two children.

Hannibal Man Charged With Forcibly Touching Victim

On April 1, at approximately 1:02 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a forcible touching incident in Granby. Following an investigation, troopers and the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Richard L. Burdick, 71, of Hannibal, and charged him with Forcible Touching, a class “A” misdemeanor.
