Cre8 Studios and Friends of Oswego are back at it again and this time they are helping to raise awareness for suicide prevention in Oswego County. Adult Prom, which will take place on April 16 at The American Foundry, will benefit Suicide Awareness Voices of Education Central New York. SAVE is a local non-profit that is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and is also a member of the National Council for Suicide Prevention.

March 2016 Was Warmer, Drier Than Average

March 2016 was a lot warmer than average and just a bit drier, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. The average temperature 5.6 degrees above average. Precipitation came in 0.60-inch below average. Snowfall for March was 16.3 inches below average. And, through the end of March, total snowfall stands at 72.9 inches. That is 73.6 inches below average.

Fulton Man Arrested For Larceny From WalMart

On March 5 State Police responded to WalMart in Granby for a report of a larceny. Asset protection members on scene advised State Police a male subject had loaded multiple items into a shopping cart and left the store without rendering payment, and provided security footage of the incident. The man was identified as Scott E. Brien, 45, of Fulton, police said.

Hannibal Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Traffic Stop

At about 10:05 a.m. today State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 690 in VanBuren for a traffic violation. The operator wasn’t able to provide identification and gave a name and date of birth. Investigation at the scene revealed he had provided a false name and date of birth, and he was positively identified as Thomas Simmons, of Hannibal, police said. Further investigation revealed he was also allegedly in possession of heroin.
