On April 8, State Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute in progress on Airport Road in the town of Granby. Shortly after their arrival, a female victim was transported to Oswego Hospital where she was treated for facial injuries and released.
Operators removed Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 2 from service early this morning (April 11) for a planned refueling outage. While the unit is offline, skilled technicians will replace nearly one-third of the reactor’s fuel and perform thousands of inspections and maintenance activities.

Inside the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego on Sunday afternoon, nearly 200 people were loosing their hair as the St. Baldrick’s Foundation was gaining support. After an hour, the total had hit $49,000. Over the course of its 10 years, Oswego’s St. Baldrick’s events have raised more than $511,600 to help fight childhood cancer.
A couple hundred people took the plunge Saturday afternoon in Lake Ontario. They were freezing for a reason — Oswego’s fourth Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. The event was held at Wright’s Landing at 1 p.m. In roughly three minutes, the plungers had made their in and out of the freezing water.
At the regular meeting of the Fulton City Council held April 5, the Council submitted two public requests. One request was to schedule a public hearing to amend current law regarding dog seizure, while the other request was to receive sealed bids for a residential property within the city.
The Oswego County Highway Department has scheduled bridge replacement and repair work to be done on three local bridges this spring and summer. Repair work on the county Route 32 bridge over Shanty Creek, at the intersection of routes 32 and 12 in the hamlet of Mallory, is scheduled for April and May.
The Upstate Energy Jobs Coalition, which includes business, education, labor, and economic development organizations, today (April 8) expressed strong support for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s proposed Clean Energy Standard following the release of a cost analysis of the plan issued by the state’s Department of Public Service. The CES mandates that 50 percent of all electricity consumed in New York by 2030 come from clean and renewable energy sources.
