Is The County Really Saving Any Money?
Maybe if the Republicans want to be honest with the taxpayers, they will disclose the names of all the friends and relatives they’ve gotten jobs for, and those they created positions for.

I am glad that people want to come back to Fulton and I would like to see more of it. My problem is in that why this property and why this area of Fulton.
At the last county legislature meeting, I asked if the contract with IQS is going to be rebid. Like always, there was no answer. The contract expires in August and it can either be rebid or extended to IQS for another year. If it’s rebid, we have a real opportunity to save the taxpayers a significant amount of money.
On behalf of the Oswego City School District Music Department, I would like to thank the Oswego High School Class of 1962 for its most generous monetary donation. We will take a little time to decide how to use the money as we want to purchase something that will benefit the students of the entire music department.
As chairman of the 2013 Memorial Day Salute Committee, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making the 32nd Fulton Memorial Day Salute a huge success.
New York State has a situation that affects taxpayers, consumers and responsible caretakers. The subject is the rapid influx of commercial breeders, primarily to Central New York. As regulations in neighboring states have become more stringent, breeders are moving into New York. New York State appears to be the only state that specifically has language that disallows home rule regarding companion animal breeders and pet stores.
It’s time for candidates to start circulating the nominating petitions for the upcoming election. This is a good time for the public to ask the question that we in the legislature can get no answer to.
The Common Council will soon be considering a resolution that will result in the elimination of positions within the fire department. There are currently four newly created vacancies that were included in the 2013 budget and anticipated to be filled. This comes as a surprise, based on the fact that we recently suffered cuts to daily staffing and made concessions through contract negotiations to accommodate the 2013 budget.
I want to thank two organizations for their volunteering to provide cleanup and maintenance of our city parks. Over the years, the Fulton Lions Club has worked at C.V. Abbott Playground at Hulett Park, the playground at Voorhees Park and four years ago, adopting Oswego Falls Park. The second organization is the Fulton Alliance Church Building Bridges Committee’s children’s group called the Community Kids.
On behalf of the Fulton Service Clubs Memorial Day Salute Committee, I thank the people of the Fulton area who attended and participated in the various events sponsored by the four Fulton Service Clubs over the Memorial Day Weekend. The sponsors of this community service project were the men and women in the Fulton Kiwanis Club, the Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club, the Fulton Lions Club and the Fulton Rotary Club.
