Remember to Vote on Tuesday, May 21

I am writing to encourage all registered voters in the community to participate in the school budget vote and Board of Education elections. On Tuesday, May 21 registered voters in the Fulton City School District will be asked to vote on the 2013-14 school district budget. Members of the Board of Education approved a $65.26 million tentative budget at their April 9 meeting.

Do we really need a legislator to be county treasurer?

Tonight (April 11), the county legislators are likely going to vote in a fellow legislator (as treasurer) who has 28 years experience being a legislature not an accountant. If you feel so inclined, call your legislator and ask him why they aren’t giving the added fiscal responsibility to the county’s chief accountant? These are tight times and we don’t need this extra expense when there’s a more efficient way to do it. It doesn’t even have to be a Democratic/Republican issue, its just the right thing to do!
