What Democrats say about creating fair and equitable elections in New York and what Democrats do regarding those elections are growing increasingly further apart. While claiming recent changes in election laws are to improve turnout and democracy in the state, it is clear the motivation behind many of these policies is to suit their agenda. The only thing worse than blatantly political-driven policy is doing so under the guise of democracy.

Residents of Oswego County and in other parts of the state are still reeling from this week’s major flooding event, but thanks to the incredible work of our local emergency service personnel and first responders the impact of the event did not reach the level of catastrophe it may have without their efforts.

Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) joined representatives from law enforcement and his colleagues in the Republican Conference to voice their opposition to Democrats’ “Clean Slate Act,” the latest policy proposal in their pro-criminal agenda. In the final days of the legislative session, Democrats in the Legislature have prioritized a more dangerous criminal justice system over public safety, affordability and the state’s outmigration.

In an effort to protect taxpayer funds, members of the Assembly Republican Conference called on state officials to provide information and clarification about the $1 billion allocated to New York City for costs associated with the migrant influx. Reports that have revealed a lack of coordination, communication and planning have raised serious concerns from numerous state and local officials as the relocation of migrants continues without regard for local laws.
