Schumer, Gillibrand Deliver Largest Investment Ever Through The Northern Border Regional Commission For Upstate NY
After delivering historic increase for the program in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today announced $10,858,128 in federal funding for twelve projects across the North Country and Upstate New York through the Northern Border Regional Commission’s (NBRC) the largest annual investment for Upstate NY in the programs history. Schumer and Gillibrand said these projects will help address critical needs across the region, including expanding childcare, fixing aging infrastructure, training workers for good-paying jobs, increasing access to high-speed internet, and accelerating the economic growth of Main Streets across the North Country and Upstate New York.

Schumer Secures $4 Million In Fed Funding For Port Of Oswego To Expand Operations, Purchase New Equipment, Boost Rail Infrastructure, And Strengthen Upstate NY Businesses Access To Global Markets
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer today announced that the Port of Oswego has been awarded a $4 million grant through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to improve rail infrastructure and purchase new cargo handling equipment. Schumer says this funding will provide the harbor with essential equipment and railroad upgrades, leading to 19 new jobs, increased export capacity, and better access to global markets for local businesses.

Gillibrand Announces Over $160,000 In Federal Funding For Economic Development In The Village Of Cazenovia
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $166,000 in federal funding from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support strategic planning for the Village of Cazenovia following the closure of Cazenovia College in Madison County.

Gillibrand Highlights $2 Million In Federal Funding For Auburn Community Hospital And Visits Construction Site Of Its New State-Of-The-Art Cancer Center
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand joined Auburn Community Hospital President & CEO Scott Berlucchi, City Councilor Ginny Kent and Cayuga County Legislature Chair David Gould to highlight $2 million in federal funding for Auburn Community Hospital’s new state-of-the-art cancer center and to view the construction site. The funding will support the expansion of the cancer center and will be used for infrastructure improvements and to purchase critical medical equipment for cancer diagnostics.

Governor Hochul Highlights Nearly $14 Million Available To Advance Innovation In Clean Hydrogen Research, Development, And Demonstration Projects
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a nearly $14 million initiative to advance clean hydrogen research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) projects. The first round of funding makes up to $8 million available for projects that address the challenges of decarbonizing industrial process heat and advancing clean hydrogen production and renewable energy integration. Today’s announcement supports the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goals to reduce emissions 85 percent by 2050 and transition to 100 percent zero-emission electricity by 2040.

Gillibrand Announces Over $6 Million In Federal Funding For Youth Mental Health Initiatives And Treatment For Substance Use Disorders In New York State
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $6,837,883 in federal funding for youth mental health initiatives and programs, as well as treatment for substance use disorders in New York State. The funding was allocated through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and will be used to serve a wide array of needs, including helping to develop and support school- and community-based mental health programs and services, as well as expanding access to substance use disorder (SUD) treatments.

Mannion (D-Geddes) today announced continued record funding for the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) with an additional $1,750,000 for workforce training in high-demand and high-skill manufacturing jobs in Central New York and across the state. Senator Mannion has secured $4,250,000 for MACNY’s workforce training programs since taking office, including to help fund its successful Manufacturing Intermediary Apprenticeship Program (MIAP.)
