After seemingly one of the longest winters and certainly the longest offseason in a considerable amount of time, there are plenty of things to look forward to ahead of Oswego Speedway’s 68th seasons which begins with ‘opening day’ featuring the Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50s for the Supermodifieds plus the Tony White Memorial 35 for the Pathfinder Bank SBS.

On the speedway presented, by Scott Jeffery’s Performance Plus, will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, SUNY Canton DIRTcar Sportsman, Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux RUSH Late Models and E&V Energy Novice Sportsman.

After 116,000 cans were collected throughout a total of just three race nights in 2017, the popular Novelis ‘Fan Can Chase’ will open for a 13th season at Oswego Speedway as part of Holiday Inn Express & Suites ‘opening day’ May 26.

Canale Insurance and Accounting is returning to the Oswego Speedway in 2018 as the sponsor of the yellow flag. Every time the yellow flies it will be the Canale Insurance and Accounting Yellow Flag. Owner Dave Canale said it’s a program they started last year, and have been very pleased with its success.

A total of 23 race cars rolled into the pit area Sunday afternoon for Oswego Speedway’s annual open practice session with Aric Iosue in the Novelis Supermodifieds and Mike Bond in the Pathfinder Bank SBS topping the speed charts for the day.

We headed down to Homer on May 16 in our final game of the season and met a tough offensive host in them. They have several girls who have great stick skills and attack the cage with every possession they get.

Mother nature had other ideas about racing today (May 19). In order to save fans and race teams time, travel and money, the decision was made to cancel the May 19 racing program. The Fulton Speedway returns in a big way Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 26.
