Fulton Youth Basketball will hold a two-day offensive skills and shooting clinic over spring break next week. Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26 players in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade can attend the clinic at the Fulton War Memorial. The clinic will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day with an emphasis on the fundamentals of shooting, passing, pivoting and ball handling.
It seems the excitement level heading into Oswego Speedway’s 68th season of racing is much higher than in recent years and rightfully so as now 32 Novelis Supermodifieds and 29 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers have pre-registered for action ahead of the track’s season opener on May 26.
Oswego Speedway also recently announced that Skip’s Fish Fry will be available in the main and pit concessions at the ‘Steel Palace’ in 2018. Skip’s will offer its host of seafood options on race nights as well as being the exclusive provider of Hofmann hot dogs at the Speedway this season.
Mike Hogan has been named Assistant Golf Professional at Oswego Country Club, it was announced today (April 18). Hogan, a native Oswegonian, joins OCC’s new PGA Head Golf Professional Ryne Varney’s staff.
Between all the winter melting snow, and unusually wet start to spring, Fulton Speedway officials have decided to move April 21 Test & Tune until April 24. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with cars hitting the speedway at 5:30 p.m. Practice is open to any car that runs on dirt. Pit is $20 with the main grandstand free for the fans.
The Barbeau Racing Race Party set to benefit three-time and defending Pathfinder Bank SBS champion Dave Cliff is set to take place April 21 beginning at noon inside Lighthouse Lanes.
Just ahead of the 2018 racing season, Oswego Speedway and Turning Stone Resort Casino announced the return of the very popular ‘Favorite Driver’ contest. The exciting weekly contest will kickoff on May 26, Oswego Speedway’s 68th annual opening day.
Once again, at the conclusion of standard hot lap sessions each week, Supermodified and SBS competitors will take to the racing surface once again for their 15 minute long time trial session, which will still be held in ‘open pit’ format, allowing five to six cars on the track at a time.
We came out flat as we went to Nottingham High School. The first half we did not take care of the ball and our shot placement for the first half was not on point. Before the first whistle we talked about coming out quick and hard and shooting with a purpose and we stormed out quickly against Cortland.
The 2018 Bruce Racing Chicken BBQ Fundraiser set to benefit Oswego Speedway Pathfinder Bank SBS veteran Mike Bruce will be held April 14 from 1-6 p.m. at Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego.
