On Thursday night (Jan. 25), the Oswego High School Girls’ Hockey team defeated Canton 5-3 at the Crisafulli Rink. Oswego currently sits in third place in the section behind Ithaca and Skaneateles, but there are still some games to be played.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team fought hard but could not overcome 11 3-pointers from league-leading Cortland in falling by a score of 68-59. The Lakers fall to 8-9 overall and 5-5 in the SUNYAC while Cortland improves to 14-3 (9-1).

The No. 5/5 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 5-1, on Friday night to clinch Head Coach Ed Gosek’s 300th career win. The win moves Gosek’s career record to 300-88-26 and the Lakers’ season record to 12-3-1, while Cortland falls to 7-10-0 this season.
Already penciled in, the Small Block Supermodifieds will return to the Evans Mills Speedway in the North Country for the second Annual Lighthouse Lanes SBS Series ‘Fall Brawl 50’ set to take place on September 16. The decision by Evans Mills to race on Saturday nights this season will not affect this event.
