The number thirteen was lucky for Tim Sears Jr. Saturday at the Fulton Speedway in the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds on Sunoco Fulton Ethanol Facility night. Sears started thirteenth in the 35-lap feature quickly working his way into the top five. Once at the front of the field, Sears was locked in a three-way battle with Billy Whittaker and Ryan Phelps at the front of the field.

The first of Oswego Kartway’s Triple Crown events took place last Friday with the annual running of the RJ Kart Sales King of the Kartway championship. At the end of the night it was young Emma Spaulding upstaging the boys in Jr. Green Clone to earn the only ‘Queen’ of the Kartway title during the evening as she outran Jason Parkhurst and Cole Combes for the win in the No. 16.
A fast-paced month of July will come to a close at Oswego Speedway this Saturday, July 23, with the historic 30th running of the $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified and 25th running of the $1,500 to win Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS. The second richest paying race of the season at Oswego is a fan favorite, and always provides memorable moments and battles.
This year’s edition of Super Dirt Week will look significantly different for dirt race fans while for Oswego Speedway their facility will have a new makeover. It is less than 80 days to the beginning of Super Dirt Week and the process is well under way. Sitting down with World Racing Group Director of Events Jeff Hachmann at the site of this year’s event, he explained how SDW got to where it is. “In novice terms, wood chips will be put down to keep moisture and then 12-15 inches of clay will go down. We will water, roll and till the track just like a gardener would. There will be 600 loads of clay going down,” he said of transforming the Steel Palace into a dirt track once again.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will head to Fulton Speedway on October 8 for the “Saturday Night Special” during NAPA Auto Parts Super Dirt Week. Fulton is one of three municipalities getting in on the NAPA Super DIRT Week action with traditional nighttime events.
