Four weeks into Oswego Speedway’s championship season has already produced three different lead changes in the race for the track championship in the Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions.
Defending Clone Heavy track champion Jamie Shutts returned to his winning ways on Friday, dominating the State Clone Light field behind the wheel of his No. 2 machine.
It has been a few seasons since Vernon, NY, Modified pilot Willy Decker has been a regular at the Fulton Speedway. In fact it had been since 2012 when Decker picked up a win at the Route 57 speedway.
In just his fourth start driving the Graham Racing No. 12 Novelis Supermodified, longtime Oswego Speedway veteran Pat Lavery cruised to Turning Stone Resort Casino Victory Lane in the Speedway’s Spring Championship, presented by C’s Beverage Center and Century 21 Galloway Realty, to earn his second career Oswego victory and first since June of 2013.

With three races down in Oswego Speedway’s 2016 Road to the Championship, several key players have emerged as threats for the coveted Speedway track title in both the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions.
On the high speed racing program will be the ground pounding Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux RUSH Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, JB Logging & Firewood Four Cylinders plus the first appearance of the season from the Firehouse Subs Mod Lites.
After a week off from competition, Oswego Kartway will be back in action this Friday, June 10, with racing starting at 7:30 p.m., presented by Good Times of Oswego, Inc.
Michael Barnes and his Syrell Racing Novelis Supermodified, winners of Oswego Speedway’s 66th annual opening night main event on May 14, will be attending the MyNovelis Family Day celebration on Saturday, June 11, beginning at noon, to be held at Oswego’s Novelis plant on County Route 1A.
