With a high risk of heavy rains forecasted through the entire weekend in central New York, Oswego Kartway officials have decided to postpone the third annual Fall Frenzy 200 Championships until October 17. More than an inch of rain is forecast in the area tomorrow, with rains expected to move in as early as the overnight.
Oswego Kartway’s 9th annual Kartway Classic took center stage on Thursday of Budweiser Classic Week with a record 150 entries taking part in the Kartway’s staple event, besting the record of 126 entries from a year ago.
This week the Glens Falls Greenjackets will be buzzing into Syracuse fresh off of a 14-10 win over the Watertown Red & Black. This is the first meeting between the two teams of the season, as they close the regular season against each other in a few weeks.
Once again a guaranteed winner’s share of $1,000 will be up for grabs between the Stock Heavy 100 and the Clone Heavy 100 at the Kartway’s Fall Frenzy 200 Championships to be held on September 12. The winner of the Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy mains will earn a guaranteed winner’s share of $500 a piece, plus other contingencies and lap monies, including the already published 70% entry fee benchmark to be paid to either the top five or top three finishers depending on the number of entries.
It was only fitting to have another thrilling Oswego Speedway finish during its 65th Anniversary campaign as Mexico’s Bob Bond passed Michael Barnes with just over a lap remaining to claim the $15,000 prize as the champion of the 59th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds on Sunday. For the second consecutive year the International Classic went into overtime, taking 210 laps to reach completion.
