As the countdown continues toward the 59th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway on September 6, we move to the next Classic Driver on our list, Randy Ritskes. Ritskes joins the list of Dave McKnight and Joey Payne, as drivers to have never won the Classic, but certainly made their mark over the last several years.
A fun, affordable, exciting night of racing will take place August 8 at the Fulton Speedway presented by McDonald’s Restaurants and Regional Truck and Trailer. Adult grandstand admission is only $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger admitted free.
Oswego Speedway’s 65th Anniversary, $5 special will be a weekend affair with the Supermodified/SBS Driver Challenge now taking place Friday night at Oswego Kartway, located directly behind the Speedway. No less than 10 Oswego Speedway drivers are scheduled to take part in the exhibition race, that will see Supermodified and SBS pilots take each other on in the same karts that compete weekly at the Bullring.

Like Dave McKnight, Payne has yet to grace victory lane in the International Classic, but has recorded five career top five finishes.
Over the course of the International Classic’s nearly 60 years at Oswego Speedway, several Canadian drivers have made their mark on the ‘Steel Palace,’ including Dave McKnight. Starting his first Classic in 1986, McKnight has missed just one 200 since that time driving for several teams including the Bush No. 6, Mucci No. 98, Lichty No. 94, Syrell No. 08, and most recently the Morton No. 70.
On August 8 Ronald McDonald will bring his fun to all the fans in attendance and will also have a meet and greet with all the Junior Fan Club members. Joining Ronald will be another well-known McDonald’s character, Hamburglar.
Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway fans were greeted with great weather and close racing on the ‘High Banks’ that featured close racing, win streaks and first time winners. In the Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, Tom Sears Jr. took the lead from Chad Phelps on lap 20 and then had to hold off furious challenges from first Pat Ward and then Billy Decker to win his second popular feature of the year.
