The Oswego State men’s basketball team defeated Oneonta 68-59 Tuesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium in the first round of the SUNYAC Championship. This is the third time Oswego has taken down the Red Dragons this season. The win also marked Jason Leone’s 150th career win as a collegiate varsity basketball coach.

Nearly six months after setting the all-time Novelis Supermodified track record at Oswego Speedway in the Graham Racing No. 99 Supermodified, the ‘Jersey Jet’ Joey Payne and Graham Racing have parted ways. The initial announcement of Payne’s release was made on his personal Facebook account last Thursday, with the release confirmed Tuesday morning through a statement from Graham Racing team owner, Ray Graham.
The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (17-3-4, 12-2-2) took a tough 4-2 loss to Potsdam (12-10-3, 8-6-2) in the regular-season finale at the Marano Campus Center Arena on Saturday night. With the defeat, Oswego earns the No. 2 seed in next week’s SUNYAC Championship and will host the highest remaining seed after Wednesday’s quarterfinals round at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
By popular demand the Great Northern Mall with the Brewerton and Fulton Speedway are excited to announce the return of the “Blast Off” car show on March 27-29. “The shows in the past were a great success and helped propel us into the new season. We expect nothing different this year,” said Cory Reed who is the marketing director for both tracks.

Oswego (17-2-4, 12-1-2) still holds a one-point advantage over the Cardinals (17-5-2, 12-2-1) in the league.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team fell 67-50 the Cortland Red Dragons Friday night in the Max Ziel Gymnasium. The Lakers finished their season with an 8-17 record, two wins better than the previous season. Cortland finishes the regular season with a record of 20-5 and 14-4 in the SUNYAC.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team played conference foe Cortland tough in a 56-47 loss on Friday afternoon’s Senior Night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the loss, Oswego moves to 16-9 overall and a 12-6 SUNYAC record while Cortland goes to 17-8 overall and 10-8 in the conference.
