The Oswego State men’s soccer team was defeated by host Brockport 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the team’s record drops to 4-9-2 on the year and 3-4-1 in conference.

The Oswego State women’s soccer team falls to Brockport 4-1 on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Laker Soccer Field. With the defeat, the team moves to 5-7-3 on the year and 2-3-3 in conference.

Overnight rain that has continued into Saturday has forced Fulton Speedway management to cancel the Saturday, October 18th ‘Eve Of Destruction IV’. The event won’t be rescheduled this season. A suitable date for 2015 will be discussed during the winter months.

Oswego Speedway’s 2014 racing season has been checkered flagged for just over a month, but the wheels are already turning toward 2015, with Century 21 Galloway Realty being the first race night partner to renew their event sponsorship for next season. Century 21 Galloway Realty has been a longtime Speedway partner, recently presenting the Speedway’s driver autograph night on June 14 of last year, which saw Michael Barnes and Jason Simmons drive to Turning Stone Resort Casino Victory Lane.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference has recognized Oswego State field hockey’s Sarita Charap for the second-straight week as its Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 12, 2014. It is the third time this season that the freshman has earned the award out of a possible seven weeks.

Oswego’s loss is its first on the conference slate this season, dropping to 2-1-3 in SUNYAC action and 5-5-3 overall. The Bengals advance to 5-6-2 on the year and 2-3-0 in conference.

The Oswego State women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie at Fredonia on Friday afternoon. It is the Lakers’ third straight game going into double overtime and the fourth double overtime game in five SUNYAC contests this season.
