Superstars Friesen, Santos Join Race of Champions Weekend Lineup at Oswego
When the 64th annual Race of Champions Weekend gets under way this Saturday and Sunday at Oswego Speedway, two open-wheel racing superstars are expected to be in the lineup. Two-time Super DIRTcar Syracuse 200 champion Stewart Friesen and former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Bobby Santos are expected to be at the ‘Steel Palace’ for a weekend’s worth of action.

$10,000 Mr. Supermodified to Broadcast Nationally on Speed Sport, MAVTV Thursday Evening
Oswego Speedway’s second nationally televised broadcast of the 2014 racing season will air Thursday, September 11 at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, featuring the tape delayed 28th annual running of the $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified presented by Davis Bros. Inc. which took place at the Speedway on August 2. Thursday’s broadcast will bring fans one of the most exciting Supermodified events on the racing calendar, with the second largest winner’s purse of the season.

Oswego Regular Abold Scores Top Five Finish in Star Classic 150
Oswego Speedway weekly Supermodified contender Jeff Abold traveled to Epping, NH, last weekend for the 49th running of the Star Classic 150 for ISMA Supermodifieds at Star Speedway and returned home with a top five finish in the A&P Automotive No. 05. Abold, who finished second in the Star Classic one year ago, started the final leg of the Supermodified Triple Crown in the 11th position and worked his way to a fifth place finish by the end of 150 green flag laps of racing.

Speedway Track Championships To Be Settled During Race of Champions Weekend
The Race of Champions is the second oldest consecutively run auto racing event in the United States, second only to the Indianapolis 500. This year the RoC will not only be highlighted by the Sunoco Modified 200, but Oswego Speedway’s staple divisions will crown their champions across two days.

Lady Lakers Rout Medaille
The Oswego State women’s soccer team improved to .500 (2-2) on the year with a 6-0 rout of Medaille College in its final game of the Blue Devil/Clarion Classic, hosted by Fredonia. Medaille’s loss dropped its team record to 0-4 on the year.
