‘Classic Moments’ Countdown: #29 Crash Takes Out the Big Three – 1958 Budweiser International Classic
With 29 days remaining until the International Classic, the countdown continues with No. 29, the crash that eliminated Nolan Swift, Lee Bliss, and Ed Bellinger Sr. from the 1958 running of the Classic.
During the Speedway’s stock car era in the late 1950s, Swift, Bliss and Bellinger were consistently three of the top drivers to beat.

First Time Winners Continue Streak at Oswego Kartway
A total of four drivers earned their first career main event wins at Oswego Kartway last Friday night, with some 87 entries on hand to contend for victories. Jacob Holmes, Barry Goodney, Shannon Pitcher, and Michael Humphrey all graced the Kartway’s feature victory lane for the first time in their careers Friday, capping a great evening of racing which was run off in under three hours.

Announced on Monday, ISMA Supermodified ‘King of Wings’ champion Dave Shullick Jr., will return to non-wing Novelis Supermodified action Saturday night at Oswego Speedway to contend for the title of ‘Mr. Supermodified’ and $10,000 in John Nicotra’s No. 6 machine.

Oswego Speedway’s summer stretch run toward Budweiser International Classic Weekend begins Saturday night at the ‘Steel Palace’ with the 28th edition of the $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified special presented by Davis Bros. Inc. of Oswego. The 27-year history of the Mr. Supermodified event has provided memorable moments and decorated champions.

War Of SK8teen 12 to feature Port City Roller Derby August 9
Port City Roller Derby will keep 2014 rolling with their “War Of SK8teen 12” bout on August 9 in Crisafulli Rink. For a battle bout featuring PCRD skaters, the Port City Sirens will take on the Kingston Derby Girls Skateful Dead team from Kingston Canada. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with action beginning at 6 p.m. at Crisafulli Rink.
