For the first time since 2007, Oswego Speedway will award guaranteed starting positions to the top drivers in the Midwest Supermodified Association, the International Supermodified Association, the Novelis Supermodified division at the Speedway, and Oswego’s top Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super driver.
Oswego Speedway announced Friday that racing coverage from the ‘Home of the Supermodifieds’ will be featured nationally on MAV-TV’s ‘Speed Sport Magazine’ and ‘Speed Sport’ programming beginning this month.
Steven DeLisle, a Sophomore from Fulton was a member of the 2014 SUNY Oneonta men’s lacrosse team. The team finished 5-11 overall this season. The Red Dragons finished 3-3 in the SUNYAC and qualified for the conference tournament.
For the fourth consecutive week the Oswego Kartway Kickoff is being postponed due to rain showers and wet grounds. The Kartway Kickoff will now move to Memorial Day Weekend, meaning main events will run five extra laps to begin the championship season on May 23. With yet another rain out, all of the Kartway’s designated rain dates are now being utilized.
Oswego’s own Dave Danzer and North Carolina invader Andrew Schartner took checkered flags at the Oswego Speedway’s 53rd season-opener last Saturday night. Danzer piloted his Hawk Racing Chassis No. 52 to victory lane in the Novelis supermodified 50 lapper while Schartner and his Hedger Racing Chassis No. 18 took top honors in the 35-lap Pathfinder Bank small block super main event.
After a hugely successful opening week the Fulton Speedway is ready to do it again. This Saturday May 17, Syracuse Haulers presents a night of fast, affordable, family, fun on the “High Banks” located on Route 57 just south of the city of Fulton.
In the past four seasons, this recycling partnership has surpassed the half million mark in recyclable cans thanks to the generous race fans that have donated an average of more than 100,000 cans for each of the past seven seasons in exchange for race tickets and other Oswego Speedway prizes.
Oswego Kartway will try yet again to complete its first event of the season this coming Friday presented by Gater News. Last Friday night’s action saw a total of 89 karts in attendance with 11 of 18 heat races being completed before a heavy rain shower soaked the Kartway racing surface just prior to 8 p.m.

Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway the 2014 season finally got under way as Mother Nature took a break. The wait was worth it as fans and competitors were treated to great racing on opening night.
In the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds there was no slowing down Larry Wight as he rode the top of the speedway to the win.
