Oswego Kartway will try yet again to complete its first event of the season this coming Friday presented by Gater News. Last Friday night’s action saw a total of 89 karts in attendance with 11 of 18 heat races being completed before a heavy rain shower soaked the Kartway racing surface just prior to 8 p.m.

Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway the 2014 season finally got under way as Mother Nature took a break. The wait was worth it as fans and competitors were treated to great racing on opening night.
In the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds there was no slowing down Larry Wight as he rode the top of the speedway to the win.
The victory is Danzer’s fourth career Novelis Supermodified triumph, giving the Oswego driver wins in each of his first four seasons dating back to 2011. Four Oswego Speedway victories now ties Danzer with Johnny Logan and Nolan Johncock on the all-time Novelis Supermodified win list at the Speedway.
Andrew Schartner travels to Oswego Speedway each week from Charlotte, NC and he made Saturday night’s trip well worth it, driving to victory in the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super division as a part of the 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and Planet Fitness.

Oswego Speedway and Supermodified fans rejoice. Saturday’s weather forecast for the Port City of Oswego has dramatically improved, showing all potential rains to be out of the area by late morning, giving a full green light for the 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff on May 10 at the ‘Steel Palace.’
The first 250 mothers that walk into the Speedway’s main gate on Saturday will be presented with a beautiful carnation from Oswego Speedway and Designs of Elegance.
After two weeks of rains and wet grounds, Oswego Kartway will take another shot at opening their championship point season this Friday. Nearly 80 entries are expected this coming Friday at the Bullring, as teams prepare to earn points for season long track championship honors and other season ending awards.
