A total of five Novelis Supermodifieds entered the pit area Tuesday evening in preparation for Saturday’s 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and Planet Fitness at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Lavery, Gruel, Brian Sweeney, Stephen Gioia III, and Jeff Abold all took laps on the fast 5/8 mile.
Oswego Speedway’s Eagles Fan Club and Chris Nelson Insurance have partnered to offer the $100 Hot Spot Giveaway to Speedway race teams in 2014. The Hot Spot Giveaway will provide a $100 check to one race team in the pit area over the course of ten weeks, running from May 10 through August 16.
Utilizing the AMB transponder scoring system, the fastest driver in Novelis Supermodified, ISMA Supermodified, and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super competition at Oswego Speedway will be awarded a cash bonus at their yearend banquet.

The No. 3 Oswego State baseball team was eliminated from the 2014 SUNYAC Championship with a 3-2 loss to No. 2 Brockport in a game that was suspended on Saturday night and needed just eight minutes to finish on Sunday as the squads started from the bottom of the eighth inning.
Despite every effort possible, Oswego Speedway’s 64th annual Opening Night celebration presented by Gater Racing News has been canceled due to heavy rain showers. The posted rain date of Sunday has also been canceled due to the pending forecast which calls for more rain, cold, and windy conditions.
The No. 3 Oswego State baseball team dropped a 4-1 contest to No. 1 Cortland in the winner’s bracket before having its elimination game with Brockport suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning. Due to rain and darkness setting in, the Lakers and Golden Eagles will resume play on at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with Brockport holding a 3-2 lead.
The No. 3-seeded Oswego State baseball team downed No. 2 Brockport 4-1 in its first game of the double-elimination SUNYAC Championship on Friday afternoon at Wallace Field on the campus of Cortland. Oswego will now play the host and No. 1 Red Dragons of Cortland at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
In an early season where the rainy weather doesn’t want to seem to give up, wet grounds has forced the cancellation of racing for May 3 at the Fulton Speedway. On May 10 Tracey Road Equipment will present a night of family, fast, affordable fun on Girl Scout Night.
