With the Kartway’s pit area still saturated from driving rains one week ago, and a high percentage of heavy rain forecast between 7-8 tonight, Kartway officials have decided to cancel tonight’s program, postponing the point opener until May 2.

Oswego Kartway’s Championship point season will kick off Friday at 7:30 p.m. presented by Gater Racing News. More than 60 entries took on the Kartway last Friday at the track’s non-point warm-up event, only to see the night’s main events washed out due to rain.
The 2014 racing season marks the 64th consecutive season of racing operation at Oswego Speedway, but before the season officially goes green on May 3, the annual open test and tune practice session will take place this Saturday from 1-5 p.m. The open practice session is open to all divisions competing at Oswego Speedway during the 2014 racing season.
A solid field of 63 entries filed through Oswego Kartway’s main gate on Friday night, only to see the feature racing washed away due to heavy showers after the qualifying heats. Due to Friday night’s race being a non-point event, the rained out feature events will not be made up.
On April 15, the Port City Royals of Oswego County played against the Cortland Saints. Played at the Royal’s gym, the game was exciting and full of quick maneuvers and excellent saves.
On April 11, in Penn Yan, two girls volleyball teams, the Port City Royals and Emmanuel Baptist Academy, competed against each other. These teams are part of the ESCAL League composed of private and homeschool students.
