The Oswego State men’s basketball team took a tough loss for the second-straight day as the Lakers fell short 82-72 in overtime at Plattsburgh. Oswego’s loss drops it to an 8-8 mark in conference play, putting them in a tie with Cortland for fifth place.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team used two shorthanded goals to down host Utica College 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Oswego’s win improves its record to 15-6-1 overall and more importantly to 9-3-1 in ECAC West play.
The Oswego State women’s basketball lost a 75-63 contest at Plattsburgh on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 6-17 on the season and 2-14 in SUNYAC play while the Cardinals improve to 17-5, 12-3.
By popular demand the Great Northern Mall with the Brewerton and Fulton Speedway are excited to announce the return of the “Blast-Off” show on April 4-6. “The shows in the past were a great success and helped propel us into the new season. The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 12 Geneseo on Friday night in the Campus Center Ice Arena. Oswego’s loss lowers its season mark to 15-5-2 and 8-5-1 in the SUNYAC standings while the Knights improve to 17-5-0, 11-2-0.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team had a last second 3-pointer spoil its night as host Potsdam took a close 68-66 contest on Friday night. Oswego’s loss drops its season mark to 14-8 and its conference record to 8-7 while the Bears improve to 4-17, 2-12.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team saw a valiant comeback fall just short 89-80 in overtime at Potsdam on Friday night. With the loss, Oswego falls to 6-16 overall and 2-13 in conference play while the Bears improve to 6-15, 4-10.
The Oswego boys’ hockey team advanced in post season play while the indoor track teams wound it down with some outstanding performances. Meanwhile, bowling, swimming, basketball and wrestling are ready to go in Section III competition while the girls’ jayvee basketball team finished the year 17-1.
Both Oswego High School boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams have qualified for post season tournament action. Girls’ Basketball – Oswego 52, Central Square 46 and Buc Boys’ Basketball – Oswego 53, Central Square 46
The Fulton Speedway is proud to announce that Case Marshall and his Pit Stop Convenience Stores will be the title sponsor for the Go-Nuclear Late Model Series event as part of the 29th Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend on October 3-4. The 50-Lap event on October 3 will be a full points paying event on the Go-Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series paying $1,000 to the winner.
