Oswego State Baseball Opens Season With A Split

With the win, Oswego improves to 17-8-1 on the year and more importantly earn the opportunity to play No. 2 Elmira next Saturday. The contest will be played on neutral ice as the No. 1-seeded Plattsburgh Cardinals will host both semifinals contest as well as Sunday’s championship.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team took a 77-56 loss at No. 1-seeded Brockport in the SUNYAC Championship semifinal on Friday night in Vlogianitis Gym. With the loss, No. 4-seeded Oswego finishes the 2013-14 campaign with a 17-10 overall record while Brockport improve to 23-3 on the year.
The unofficial start to the 2014 Oswego Speedway racing season is set for March 8-9 with the annual Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Oswego Speedway will once again feature a multi-car display at the Expo, along with two Supermodified simulators for fans to take a set of laps at the famed ‘Steel Palace.’

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team advanced to the SUNYAC Championship semifinals with a 3-2 win over Fredonia in the first round at the Campus Center Ice Arena on Wednesday night. With the win, Oswego improves to 18-6-2 on the season while the Blue Devils fall to 7-14-6. Oswego will face No. 2 Plattsburgh on the road at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team (17-9) completed the hard task of beating a team three times in one season, taking down Cortland (14-12) 69-57 in the First Round of the SUNYAC Championship at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Oswego has beat the Red Dragons three times since Feb. 8, including two wins in the past four days.
Dave Cliff and his Gnomey Racing Supermodified team will be holding a fundraiser for the upcoming Oswego Speedway season this Saturday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego beginning at 1 p.m.

Oswego’s win improves its record to 17-6-2 overall and 10-5-1 in conference play while the Cardinals fall to 19-4-2, 12-2-2.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team clinched the No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC Championship with a 78-76 overtime win over host Cortland on Saturday afternoon. Oswego’s win improved its conference mark to 10-8 while Cortland fell to 9-9, earning the No. 5 seed and setting up a rematch between the two teams at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
