The Fulton Speedway is proud to announce that Case Marshall and his Pit Stop Convenience Stores will be the title sponsor for the Go-Nuclear Late Model Series event as part of the 29th Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend on October 3-4. The 50-Lap event on October 3 will be a full points paying event on the Go-Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series paying $1,000 to the winner.
Some Oswego High School teams have earned post season berths while others are still attempting to qualify. Hockey and boys’ basketball are tournament bound while the Lady Bucs basketball squad needs a victory to advance.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team held the visiting Cortland Red Dragons to just 33.3% (17-51) from the floor and 19.0% (4-for-21) from three in a pivotal 60-41 SUNYAC victory on Saturday night. Oswego opened the night tied with Cortland in the conference standings and broke that tie with an outstanding defensive performance.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team took a tough 72-66 loss to Cortland in Max Ziel Gymnasium on Saturday night. Oswego’s loss on Senior Night drops its season mark to 6-15 and 2-12 in SUNYAC play while the Red Dragons improve to 12-9, 8-6.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team shutout Cortland 3-0 on the road Friday night. With the win, the Lakers improve to 13-6-1 overall and 7-3-1 in ECAC West play while the Red Dragons fall to 2-16-2, 1-9-1.
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team used a six-goal second period to rout Morrisville State 9-2 on the road Friday night. Oswego’s win improves its record to 14-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in SUNYAC play while Morrisville drops to 5-14-2, 2-10-1.
The anticipation and excitement surrounding the month of May at Oswego Speedway continues to build with a recent announcement from John Nicotra Racing penciling early race dates in Oswego’s Novelis Supermodified division for both Davey Hamilton and Dave Shullick Jr.
The Oswego High School swimming team finished with a successful regular season while the bowling teams performed quite well again. Meanwhile, the wrestling team also picked up a victory.
The Oswego High School girls’ hockey team closed out the season with a 3-0 loss in the Section III championship game against Skaneateles. In other action, numerous teams were battling for post season berths as the regular campaign is just about over.
Oswego Kartway’s Rewards Program will continue in 2014, and will do so in a big way. The Kartway will present matching Slack Xpect chassis as the grand prizes of this year’s Rewards Program through the collaboration of Root Racing Enterprises, Performance Manufacturing, and Slack Karts.
