The Oswego State women’s basketball took a 63-51 loss to Oneonta at home on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 6-14 overall and 2-11 in conference play while the Red Dragons improve to 15-5, 9-4.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team avenged an earlier season loss with a 71-61 victory over visiting Oneonta in a crucial SUNYAC matchup in Max Ziel Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Oswego and Oneonta entered the night in a four-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings.
The Oswego High School girls’ hockey team will play for the Section III crown after winning on Monday night. Meanwhile, the bowling team continues to perform solidly and other sports teams are winding down the regular season.
The November and December Oswego High School “Athletes of the Month” were volleyball players Marguerite Dillon and Zach Gillard (for November) and basketball players Erica Atkins and Ryan Lavner (for December).
The 2014 baseball season for Oswego Little League will kick off with the Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Player Registration at the Oswego Elks Lodge on February 11 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Oswego’s win improves the season record to 12-6-1 while the Mustangs fall to 6-14-1.
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team used a three-goal first period a short-handed goal in the waning minutes of the game to take down Cortland, 4-2. With the win, Oswego improves to 13-4-2 on the season and 6-3-1 in SUNYAC play.
