At halftime, the Oswego State men’s soccer team (4-8-1, 3-3-1 SUNYAC) trailed Geneseo (3-8-2, 1-4-1 SUNYAC), 1-0, but a thunderous, three-goal second half earned the Lakers a much-needed conference win, 3-2, on Friday at Geneseo.

The Oswego State women’s soccer team (5-7-0, 2-5-0 SUNYAC) played a physical game during cold, windy weather, but was shut out by Geneseo (1-9-2, 1-4-1 SUNYAC), 1-0, at Laker Field on Friday.

Oswego Speedway Novelis Supermodified track champion Otto Sitterly will have the privilege of being honored at the International Motorsports Industry Show in Indianapolis, as his John Nicotra Racing owned Supermodified will be a part of the prestigious Hall of Champions display within the Indiana Convention Center.

The Oswego State volleyball team (10-11) was never able to get into rhythm on Dig Pink night, as the Lakers suffered a 3-1 loss (13-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-25) to Hilbert (13-6) Wednesday night.

The Oswego State field hockey team (3-8) turned in a strong defensive performance in a 3-0 win over the Elmira Soaring Eagles (3-6) on Tuesday. Alyssa Hare recorded two goals in the second half to lift the Lakers to the victory.

The Oswego State women’s tennis team (3-12) nearly erased a 2-1 deficit heading into singles play, but was unable to complete the comeback in a 5-4 loss to Elmira (5-5) on Tuesday.

With the 2012 Oswego Speedway season now in the books, focus now shifts to the Mitchell’s Speedway Press Oswego Speedway Banquet set to be hosted by the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center on November 10.

The Oswego State men’s golf team improved on Saturday’s round by two strokes after posting a team score of 329 to finish with 660 total strokes at the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships hosted by the par-72 Blue Heron Hills Country Club.
