Thirteenth-ranked William Smith proved to be too much for the Oswego State field hockey team, as the Herons handed the visitors a 7-2 loss Friday night. William Smith was paced by two goals and an assist from Annie Kietzman.

Strong serving helped the Oswego State volleyball team post a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-13) season-opening victory over Wells Friday night.

After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, Zack Saccocio set up a pair of second-half goals to lead the Oswego State men’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over SUNY Old Westbury on Friday.

On Wednesday, the Oswego Boy’s Varsity Golf Team competed in their highly anticipated first match of the 2012 season against host team Cicero North Syracuse and visiting Central Square at Beaumont Greens in Brewerton.

In the less than a month the stars and cars of Modified racing will be heading to the Fulton Speedway for one of the biggest events in the Northeast.

On Monday the Oswego High School golf team competed in the opening event of the 2012 season, placing third in the Henninger Invitational in  an event which brings together all ten teams that will be competing for a Section III golf title in 2012.

Budweiser International Classic Weekend will come to a dramatic conclusion this Sunday with the 56th running of the prestigious International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds.

Budweiser International Classic Weekend continues on September 1 with Bud Light Night at the ‘Steel Palace’ as the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series, the ISMA Supermodifieds, and the ATQMRA TQ Midgets battle for Classic gold. Pit gates will open on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with warm-ups beginning at 3:30 p.m.
