Despite a long layoff the Oswego varsity boys’ basketball team returned to action with a 56-52 road win at West Genesee. Wrestler Mike Ruggio did quite well in recent tournament action as he swept this way past ever foe at 180.
Oswego State senior forward Chad Burridge has been named the SUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 11, 2011.
Chad Burridge (Sr., Hannibal, N.Y.) finished with 19 points, five blocks and six rebounds.
Cameron Mills (Sr., Fulton, N.Y.) had the lone victory for the Lakers in the dual when he pinned Kyle McKeighan in five minutes at 184 pounds.
Oswego High School swimmers kicked off the new season in spectacular fashion on Wednesday night with a 98-82 win over Baldwinsville. There were some very fast swims from both teams during the course of the close meet. However, Oswego would end up pulling away.
