Lady Bucs Win ‘War On The Shores’
The Lady Bucs started the year 0-5, but rolled off four straight victories including capturing the Oswego County championship tournament over Fulton. Oswego captured the “War on the Shores” which involved all four Oswego County scholastic girls’ varsity lacrosse teams.
Angler Group Plans Spring Cleanup On Salmon River
A group of dedicated anglers will return to the Salmon River on May 7 – not to fish, but to pick up trash and debris – for their second annual Salmon River Cleanup. The Lake Ontario Tributary Anglers Council will meet at 10 a.m. at Fox Hollow Lodge, 2740 State Route 13.
Steelhead Numbers Quadrupled On The Salmon River In Five Years
Lake Ontario ranks as the most productive salmonid fishery in the Lower 48 States. In fact, the world record coho salmon, a species native to the Pacific Ocean, was caught in the Salmon River near the village of Pulaski.
Bulldogs Bite Bucs
The Oswego girls’ track team lost to the host Lady Bulldogs of Nottingham Wednesday by the score of 81-44, in a CNYCL American Division contest. Junior standout Whitney Ford was a triple winner for the Lady Bucs.
OHS Varsity Lacrosse Teams Sweep Foes
The season has gotten off to a slow start for the Lady Bucs varsity lacrosse team, but the squad made up for the 0-5 start with a 14-8 win over visiting Auburn on Tuesday. Oswego headed to Auburn for a boys’ varsity lacrosse game and came home with a 13-6 victory.
