Oswego teams have been in action recently and on Tuesday the Lady Bucs lacrosse team scored a 14-8 win over Auburn for the first victory of the season while the eight-team Icebreaker Softball Tournament was cancelled due to wet fields, cold conditions and a forecast that did not appear to allow this year’s event to become a reality.

Known as the premier salmonid fishing destination in the entire Lower 48 States, Oswego County didn’t get that way by chance. It did it through the tireless efforts of the New York State DEC, the most productive and cost-effective arm of the state bureaucracy.

On Tuesday, the Buc boys’ varsity baseball team and the girls’ varsity softball team walked off the field with decisive wins in which the opponent was held hitless. The unique double no-hitter was accomplished by Ashlee Wapen (relief), Emily Kolenda, Chris Bosco and Cody Battista (relief).
