Oswego Falls In Tourney’s Championship Game

Oswego and Cicero-North Syracuse faced off in the Championship game of the Fulton Savings Bank tournament Monday. CNS used senior big man and tournament MVP six foot eight Andy Falvey along with six foot five Zachary Coleman to take advantage of an undersized Oswego front line on their way to a 75-68 victory. Falvey scored a game high 19 points and Coleman added 17, to go along with Josh Williams 10 points to lead the CNS.

Buc Hockey, Swimming and Basketball Win; Lady Cagers Fall in Close Game

Monday evening the Bucs will battle Cicero-North Syracuse for the title in the Fulton Bank Basketball Tournament on the Baldwinsville High School hardwood at 7 p.m.

However, the boys’ hockey team and swimmers gained victories while the Lady Bucs varsity basketball team lost to Section V representative Fairport and the jayvee wrestling team competed in tournament action.

Oswego State Men’s Ice Hockey Closes Out 2009 With 5-1 Over Hobart

After playing its fifth game in nine days, the top-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team wrapped up 2009 with a 5-1 victory over Hobart College on Saturday at the Campus Center Arena. Freshman Jon Whitelaw (Huntsville, N.Y.) was the Lakers’ top scorer with two goals and two assists, as Oswego State extended its winning streak to 12 games, matching a program-best mark. The Lakers improved to 13-1-0 overall, while the Statesmen dropped to 5-6-2.

Oswego State Men’s Ice Hockey Defeats Hamilton 8-2

Behind four goals and two assists from Justin Fox (Jr., Whitby, Ont.) and Eric Selleck (So., Spencerville, Ont.), the top-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated Hamilton College 8-2 on Friday night in Clinton, N.Y. The Lakers faced a 2-1 deficit after the first period, but scored five goals in the second to take control of the game. Oswego State goalie Paul Beckwith (So., Cleveland, Ohio) recorded 21 saves on 23 shots, while the Lakers moved to 12-1-0 overall. The Continentals fell to 3-3-1.
