OSWEGO, NY—On Sept. 28, SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations and the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training will gather women from across New York State for “Connections.â€
The day-long conference will be held at The American Foundry from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
One of the featured speakers will be Kimberly Steele, Esq.
Steele is the founding member of the Steele Law Firm, P.C., a multi-jurisdictional practice that represents clients in commercial transactions and litigation, construction law and suretyship.
The firm was awarded the New York State Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise designation in 2010.
The key to success in any business is your mindset.
In her presentation, entitled “Don’t Be Afraid To Be the ‘B’ Word – BOSS,†Steele will discuss shifting the mindsets of business owner and senior management, as well as employees, so that company goals may be achieved in the most cost and time efficient manner.
Entrepreneurial reflections will be shared including effective and ineffective leadership and people management.
She will discuss creating a vision of your business that fits you, your beliefs and your values, and how to create a business plan that reflects you.
She will also speak about financial stewardship and fiscal responsibility.
To conclude her presentation, she will show us how to achieve balance between work and personal life, and how to maintain that work/life balance.
“Connections†is designed to bring women of all ages and backgrounds together to explore their place and power within their professions.
The theme for this year’s event is “Vision, Change and Growth†and will feature several dynamic speakers, networking opportunities, a dessert reception and a “Women’s Marketplace†where vendors promoting products and services for women will be showcased.
Tammy Palmer from YourNewsNow will be the emcee.
Other speakers for the event include Leslie English of Dale Carnegie Training, Pamela Moss of Power My Vision, and Mandee Widrick of ChargedUp Media.
