Amboy 4-H Continues Snowshoe Programs into March

If you missed February’s Woodland Snowshoe Wanders at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center, they will offer the program again on March 6 at 2 p.m.

Come delight in the beauty of the woodlands dressed in their winter finery and stay for a cup of hot cocoa to warm up after.

Everyone age three to 103 can learn to snowshoe.

The center’s environmental educator will give a brief instructional lesson on snowshoe technique, before leading participants for a short wander through the center’s mixed woods and wetlands.

Do dress warmly and in layers, and remember to wear outdoor footwear or winter boots, as sneakers and fashion boots with heels do not fit in the straps and will make walking very difficult.

There is a program fee of $4 per person, $12 for a family, and children under 3 are free.

Snowshoes are provided free of charge for the duration of the program.
