OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Cinema, in partnership with ARC of Oswego County, will offer a special screening of the new movie “Yogi Bear” for children with special needs and their families. The new movie, featuring the voices of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake as the classic bear pair, tells the story of how Yogi and Boo-Boo team up with Ranger Smith to expose a corrupt mayor after he turns Jellystone Park into a logging facility. “Yogi Bear” opens in theaters on December 17 in both 3D and 2D versions – the ARC showing will be 2D only (no special glasses needed). Tickets are $5.75 per person, with the first 100 people in line on the day of the show receiving a $2.00 coupon off the price of admission. Often, parents of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities hesitate to take their children to a movie – whether because a dark room is frightening to them, or they are prone to vocal outbursts, or any one of a dozen issues. With the special ARC of Oswego County movie showings, families can bring children and know that there will be a supportive environment for them and their siblings. The concession stand will be open to purchase snacks, or children with special dietary needs can bring their own.
ARC of Oswego County is a private, not-for-profit organization which has been providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities since 1955.
