FAIRFAX, VA – The following local students are among only 250 chosen as National Youth Delegates to the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment.
Catherine Carter, a student at Christian Brothers Academy will represent New York as a National Youth Delegate to the 2015 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.
Brandi Jezerski, a student at Cato-Meridian High School will represent New York as a National Youth Delegate to the 2015 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.
These students join a select group of only 250 students from all over the country honored with the opportunity for an intensive study of leadership in environmental science and conservation. They were chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies.

The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment will be held June 28 to July 3, 2015.

The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE) is a unique student leadership conference designed to develop and encourage future leaders in the important field of environmental studies and conservation in the 21st century. The Advisory Board, is chaired by Mark Bauman, Senior Vice President of the Smithsonian Institution’s Enterprises Division and co-chaired by Joe Sacco, Educational Director for the National Zoo.
