FULTON, NY – A county-wide bottle and can drive was recently launched to help support Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s capital campaign.
All funds raised will go directly toward program needs and to the renovation of CCOC’s new location, the former Cayuga Community College and CiTi site on West Broadway.
CCOC plans to move in to the new location in early August.
“Three redemption centers have graciously agreed to donate the deposit receipts from cans and bottles to our campaign,” said Mary-Margaret Pezella-Pekow, executive director. “These include: Three Little Pigs Redemption Center, 712 W. Broadway, Fulton; Great Lakes Redemption Center, 159 E. Bridge St., Oswego; and The Can Man, 3259 Main St., Mexico. When dropping off cans and bottles, just ask that the deposit be donated to Catholic Charities of Oswego County.”
And in Mexico, The Can Man will do free pick up at your location, and will also deliver and pickup a trailer at group events and activities.
According to Pezzela-Pekow, CCOC has raised more than $750,000 toward its goal of $1.5 million.
CCOC will be conducting its capital campaign through the end of March 2020.
“A variety of ‘naming’ opportunities are available,” Pezzela-Pekow said.
Among these are the gymnasium, community room, activity/game room, food pantry, store/boutique, independent living skills center and more.
“This gives local businesses and individuals the chance to put their name in front of the thousands of people CCOC serves who will be using the facility or who will be clients of our programs,” she said. “We have prepared a complete packet of information that shows the floor plan and naming locations, as well as a variety of ways donations can be pledged or paid. People will be making an investment in our new location, but ultimately, they are bringing hope and transforming the lives of thousands in our county.”
