FULTON, NY – One of our area’s most vital agencies, the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County, will celebrate the opening of its new location, 301 Beech St., on Oct. 27 with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
The opening culminates a nearly two year-long search to find a new home for the CAC.
Now housed in the former St. Michael’s rectory, the CAC is poised to serve its consumers in a more comfortable, convenient location.
A non-profit agency, the CAC provides a range of services to children who have been physically, sexually, or emotionally abused.
Working together with law enforcement investigators, child protective services, medical providers, therapeutic professionals, victim support professionals, and the district attorney’s office, the CAC looks to maintain a well-coordinated, effective approach to child abuse investigation and prosecution, and service provision to families and individuals affected by child abuse.
“We are excited about our new location and are looking forward to inviting the community to join us for an open house in the spring when we will offer tours of our facilities and educate people about the many services that we offer for Oswego County children and their families,” said executive director of the CAC, Karrie Damm.
Established in 2001, the CAC is a safe, child-friendly site for the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse.
