Oswego County Treasurer John Kruk recently announced the appointment of Christine Wolford, a longtime employee in the County Treasurer’s Office, to Deputy County Treasurer.
Wolford succeeds Martha See, who retired this past spring.
“Chris has worked her way up through the ranks of county government and is very knowledgeable and capable,” said Kruk. “She is an asset to county government and the taxpayers of our county. Her promotion is certainly well-deserved.”
Wolford’s career with Oswego County began as a summer job while she was a student at SUNY Canton. After graduating from college, she was as a stenographer in the former CETA program before working as a senior clerk in the County Clerk’s Office. For the last 20 years, Wolford has held the position of principal clerk in the Treasurer’s Office.
As Deputy County Treasurer, Wolford is responsible for assisting with contracts for tax installments, county and city tax payments, and tax payments for the Oswego and Fulton school districts.
Wolford lives in Fulton with her husband, David, and their three children, Sara, age 21; Rebecca, age 19; and Adam, age 16. She plays softball on the Leah’s Century 21/Chubby’s team in the Fulton softball league, and bowls during the winter.
