MEXICO – Exceptional education students at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently created earth science projects mimicking local landforms that were created by glacial activity.
Prior to the construction of the projects, students learned key scientific factors that explain glacial activity, including how erosion is the transport of sediment, how gravity is the driving force behind erosion and how gravity can affect water, wind and glaciers.
“Students learned topographical terminology related to erosion and deposition causing the creation of landforms today in Oswego County,” said teacher Mary Ryan.
Each student created a model that depicted glacier deposition and pooling of water.
Students were also asked to create a slideshow, an informational poster and a research paper.
