Paving Project Begins Sept. 4
OSWEGO COUNTY – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) announced the temporary closure of the Altmar Drift Boat Launch and adjacent Lower Fly and North Altmar parking areas on county Route 52 in Altmar due to a scheduled paving project, weather permitting.
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 4, visitors will not be able to access this launch and parking area on the Salmon River for up to two days that week.
NYSDEC encourages boaters to use alternate launch sites on the Salmon River, such as:
- NYSDEC Pineville Drift Boat Launch on county Route 48
- Oswego County Compactor Pool Drift Boat Launch on county Route 2A
- Village of Pulaski Ballpark Drift Boat Launch on U.S. Route 11
For shore anglers wishing to fish downstream of the county Route 52 bridge in Altmar, a parking area is available at the Pulaski Street intersection.
