Dingman Receives Uplinger Award, Henderson Speaks On LVOC At Fulton Lions Meeting

David Dingman, past president of the Fulton Lions Club, received the Robert J. Uplinger Award at the club’s Sept. 18 meeting, it was announced by Gail Holmes, club president.

Megan Henderson, coordinator, Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, made a presentation to the club.

He has demonstrated that through his leadership as our past president and in his community service every year.”

Henderson presented an overview of LVOC’s services and mission. She focused on the 12% of Oswego County adult residents who have trouble reading above a fifth grade level and are considered functionally illiterate.  LVOC provides confidential services at no cost to the students in one-on-one sessions with a private tutor to help them achieve their goal.
