First Graders at Granby Collect for Paws Across Oswego County

GRANBY – Students at Granby Elementary School in Fulton have been studying about animals and their habitat.

Students from the first grade classes of Caitlin Besio, Karmin Calabro, Heather White and Judith Rowe are pictured with some of the many items they collected during their drive to support PAOC.

During their unit of study, they learned about what it takes to be a good animal caretaker and learned about organizations in their area that support homeless animals.

The first grade classes decided to take their lesson and apply their learning to a real-life problem in their community.

The students collected items for Paws Across Oswego County, a non-profit animal rescue organization that not only fosters and adopts animals, they also work with local shelters to provide spay and neuter services to combat the problem of pet overpopulation.
