Fulton Block Builders starts the 2026 season strong

FULTON – On June 4, Fulton Block Builders (FBB) held its 2026 Kick-Off Dinner at the Fulton Polish Home. More than 160 people, including Block Challenge awardees, past Pride Grant recipients, and major donors, gathered to celebrate the start of the new season.

Guests were inspired and energized by remarks from Jim Rice, Pamela Caraccioli, and Chena Tucker, each highlighting the positive impact FBB has had throughout the community.

In recognition of FBB’s 10th anniversary, the evening’s theme was “Celebrating 10 Years of Projects Built by Our Neighbors.” Committee members reflected on a decade of community-driven improvements and were especially encouraged by this year’s applications.

The stories shared by applicants demonstrate the power of neighbors working together.

Lauren, who purchased her home two years ago, expressed how much she appreciates being part of the Block Builders program. She enjoys seeing neighbors unite around common goals, meeting new people, and feeling supported by her community.

Rhonda described her neighborhood as “amazing,” noting that residents are close-knit and always willing to help one another. “Riverside Avenue is the best neighborhood in the city,” she wrote.

Sandra shared that she loves her neighborhood because residents look out for one another, take pride in their properties, and genuinely value their sense of community. Even during the winter months, neighbors help with snow removal and regularly check in on each other.

Debbie recalled purchasing an abandoned home 12 years ago and transforming it from a property plagued by disrepair, drug activity, and squatters into a beautiful single-family residence. She credits Block Builders with helping make many of those improvements possible.

Melanie also praised the program, noting that over the years it has helped her make significant improvements to both her home and her neighborhood.

As Fulton Block Builders begins its 2026 season, committee members are excited about the projects ahead and the positive changes they will bring to neighborhoods across the city. Together, residents continue to strengthen community pride—one block at a time.
